What contributions pay for

Making the content: Digitising textbooks, checking every extraction against the original, and paying the subject experts who validate it. This is the largest cost and the one that decides whether the product is any good.
Running the service: Hosting, the database, and the AI processing behind explanations and practice questions. Kept deliberately small — the zero-DevOps design exists so this line stays affordable per student.
The team and the educators: The people building Padhaai, and honorarium for educators who run sessions. Educators may be volunteers or paid; either way no student is ever charged for their time.
Reaching families who need it: Working with schools and community groups in Maharashtra so that families who would benefit most actually hear about this.

What we will not doWe will not profile you or your child to target advertising, we will not sell your data, we will not put lessons behind a payment, and we will not turn learning into a ranking contest. Padhaai is a profit-making venture and we are open about that — but the profit never comes from a student's access to their own syllabus. Contributing changes nothing about what any child can reach; it subsidises the child whose family cannot contribute.
